David Tan, Chief Technical Officer, CrushBank Technology
David Tan is CTO and co-founder of CrushBank Technology. He previously co-founded a leading MSP based on Long Island and was CTO there for 30 years. More than 10 years ago, he watched IBM Watson’s artificial intelligence beat the best contestants on the quiz show “Jeopardy.” That inspired him to design and build the very first version of what is now the CrushBank AI Engine. He was the first in the industry to specifically apply AI and unstructured search to the data sets leveraged by MSPs every day. His vision continues to shape the direction of the product today.
Tan has always been a hands-on technologist, whose proficiencies in multiple disciplines range from application development to cognitive computing, machine learning and artificial intelligence. He has a passion for embracing new and emerging technologies and guiding companies through the changing world of AI-driven IT support. Tan has built AI solutions on IBM Watson, Microsoft Azure and OpenAI. He has detailed expertise in the areas of MSP efficiency and effectiveness as well as the integration challenges caused by mergers and acquisitions.
Tan has spoken at and participated in panels at numerous conferences and industry events, including IBM Think, World of Watson, ConnectWise – IT Nation, Executive Connection Summit, ChannelCon and many more. One of the foremost experts in AI and ML for the IT support community, he is a member of CompTIA’s AI Advisory Council.
